Change Is Coming

You hunker down, relaxed instep, arms touching arms, body’s shoulder-width apart, moving in promise, searching for those ‘undecided’ to join your origin story. A parade of souls who campaign through streets of gold like soldiers with one voice crying out in hope. A people discouraged and a crowd outraged but have you ever known the hues of the sun as they overrun the streets with a light that screams through cracks in the pavement and into walls that ingest their cries as if they were mouths? Damn, you and they are beautiful people who believe in a dream and who lift your voices in song that makes even celestial beings weep to hear.

You realize the voice is mine as I yearn to stir the last bit of hope inside of you so that you know your fight is not in vain. “Freedom, hang on freedom, hang on”, we are on our way because change is coming, change is coming and I promise that we will destroy the links in those chains that hold you…
